Director: Ellen Olis

Sitting down with the director, she had hoped to shoot the film in a similar style to “The Lighthouse” with inspiration from Wes Anderson’s style of shooting. This made the project extremely fun, as we really got to experiment with different lighting and framing than we would normally have. The biggest challenge we ran into was that this was all supposed to take place on a beach. However, as we got closer to filming, we soon learned that we would be unable to place lights on the beach at this time of year due to turtle nesting season. Having to change the location to a forest/estate, meant all the prep needed to be redone, only a day before our shoot date. I think that the film ended up working out better in the forest, as the location really fit the story and we were able to have a bit more control with power sources on set.
