Logline: Desperate for love, a young man takes a chance and makes a bold move on a girl he just met. Although she seems like a home run, she’s playing a totally different game.

Nothing is more important than preparation as a director and having only a week to get this film written, prepped, and shot was no simple task. It was truly incredible to see the crew work as hard and as fast as they did to help this set come together. With such timeline on the project, it really challenged me to be at my best. Casting started before the first draft was finished, and prep continued every day, even through the last day of shooting. This film has a special place in my heart, not only from how it began, but from the story. The lead character is very much based on some of my personality traits, which enabled me to get an authentic performance from my lead actor. With a lot of my films and stories I try to find a way to impart hope on the viewer, but with this production, I really wanted to show that hope is great, but blind hope can lead to a disaster. When you try to be someone that you’re not, you’re only going to find others that try to be someone else. The best thing a person can do is to be true to themselves, because truth will lead to more genuine relationships in life.

This film COULD NOT have happened without an amazing team that were all willing to switch gears from a film that was 4 years in the making to a something that had been thought of less than a week before. Everyone pulled together in order to bring this film to life. Senior thesis films usually take and 6 months to plan, produce, and shoot. This film may not be perfect, but to make something at the level of many other senior thesis films at our school in such a short amount of time was huge to me. It also allows me to sit back a look at the team we put together, between the 3 thesis films I directed, and realize that I have a great network of people that can be relied on when needed to make something incredible (hopefully with more prep time).
