This was a collaborative effort all around. This project gave my film team and I a chance to work with our schools Advertising Department to shoot a senior thesis project. Normally advertising students don’t make commercials, they just create scripts or shoot example videos. Turning their concept into a full-fledged commercial shoot was a new experience for them, as working within the brands focus was new to us.
To pull off this project it was all hands-on deck. We only had a short period of about a week to ramp up to production. The hardest part was finding the location of an office, something that we had both film and advertising majors looking for. Everyone had great options back home, which were hours away, but we struggled to find in Savannah where our school is located. We thankfully were able to find a great office set up, within the city, about 2 days before we shot.
This film really taught me how important it is for a team to come together to pull something off. When you’re struggling with one aspect, you can reach out to the group, and they will help pick up the pieces for you. In the end everyone on a team has the same goal, it’s not just about the finish line, but how you get there.
