Finding Christmas

My favorite genre of all times is Romantic Comedies, a film that will make you laugh, give you hope, and leave you happy at the end. For me the theater experience is about giving people a break from their chaotic, potentially depressing day, and let them walk out happier than when they came in. Films should be about uplifting people’s spirits, not destroying them even more. The world needs some happiness and hope, something I hope this film can give. The story is inspired by John Hughes’ Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (1987). Taking elements from the film, and weaving them into a Romcom was quite simple, but coming up with fresh obstacles and was for the characters to connect while feeling real were the hardest part. The film diverges from the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles route at the midpoint, and truly becomes its own story as Christmas is upon the small town of Evansville, Indiana.

Stranded by a snowstorm, two young strangers attempt to make it home for Christmas, while potentially finding love on the way.
